What We Believe

We are a part of the global United Methodist Church, founded upon faith in Jesus Christ and belief that we are called into service to our fellow people as worship of God.  We believe that passionate worship, meaningful service, and discipleship of Jesus Christ are ways of life, not just things we do on Sunday morning, and we strive to live this out in everything we do and say at MUMC.  We affirm the need we all have for love and grace from God, and the call that we all have to reflect that love to others.

As a congregation, we recognize that there are many issues upon which we as Christians respectfully disagree.  Within our congregation, we have people who consider themselves "conservative" and those who consider themselves "liberal," as well as many people whose beliefs do not fit neatly into these categories.  We encourage thoughtful and prayerful discussions and open and honest dialogue about where we see God at work in the world.  If you have questions about our particular beliefs on a certain issue, or if you would like more information than the very brief summary presented here, please email the pastor.

If you have questions about the specifics of our beliefs as a denomination, this page has excellent information and history to assist you.

We hope that you will consider visiting with us soon so that we may get to know you better.
